Principal-led Engineering Consultancy · Est. 2013

Effort, engineered.

Between engineering leaders, blocked on an integration, or signing a term sheet on a codebase no one has read? Prayantr Technologies is a principal-led engineering consultancy, independent since 2013 — fractional CTO leadership, enterprise platform & integration engineering, technical due diligence, and zero-to-one product builds. Every engagement is led personally by founder Amit Solanki.

30 minutes with the principal — you'll hear back from Amit directly.

Services

Fractional CTO leadership, integration engineering, audits — what we offer.

Four practice areas. Each engagement is scoped in writing, led by the principal, and ends with something you own outright.

01

Fractional CTO & VP of Engineering

Executive engineering leadership, one to three days a week. For companies that need the judgment of a seasoned technology executive without the full-time seat — or a steady hand holding the org together between full-time hires.

Best for: Seed–Series B startups · founder-led companies · interim leadership gaps

Between leaders, or never had a CTO? See how a fractional engagement runs.

What's included

  • Technology strategy & roadmap — owned, written down, defended
  • Architecture direction — reviews, decisions, and the paper trail
  • Engineering hiring — sourcing, interview loops, closing senior candidates
  • Org design & delivery process — releases, on-call, sprint cadence
  • Vendor & partner negotiation — contracts, SLAs, integration terms
  • Board & investor support — reporting, diligence prep, honest numbers

02

Platform & Integration Engineering

The firm's deepest specialty: making independent systems behave like one product. API platforms, partner ecosystems, and the unglamorous machinery — webhooks, queues, retries, reconciliation — that enterprise integrations live or die by.

Best for: SaaS with partner ecosystems · commerce & marketplace platforms · API-first products

A deal waiting on engineering? See how the build runs.

What's included

  • API design & partner-facing platforms — specs, versioning, developer experience
  • Third-party system integrations — payments, ordering, logistics, ERP
  • Sync pipelines at scale — catalog, order, and inventory data flows
  • Partner certification programs — sandboxes, test suites, onboarding gates
  • Legacy & on-prem connectors — when the system that matters lives in a back office
  • Reliability engineering — retries, idempotency, reconciliation, monitoring

03

Zero-to-One Product Builds

A scoped engagement that ends with a production system, not a prototype. Prayantr owns discovery, architecture, the build itself, and a clean handover your own engineers will thank you for inheriting.

Best for: Funded ideas without a team yet · internal tools · new product lines inside existing companies

Funded and teamless? See how a build runs.

What's included

  • Discovery & technical scoping — what to build, what to skip, in writing
  • System architecture & data modeling — built for the second year, not the demo
  • Full-stack buildRuby on Rails and modern JavaScript, end to end
  • Cloud infrastructure & CI/CD — deployable from day one
  • Launch & monitoring — runbooks, alerting, zero-downtime releases
  • Handover & support window — documentation, walkthroughs, a warranty period

04

Engineering Audits & Technical Due Diligence

An honest outside eye on the code, the architecture, and the organization. For founders, boards, and investors who need the truth before the next hire, the next raise, or the next rewrite.

Best for: Pre-investment diligence · post-acquisition assessment · teams that feel slower than they should be

Scoping a diligence? Fixed scope, written verdict, moves at deal speed — see how the read runs or book the intro.
More engineers, less shipping? See how an operator audit runs.

What's included

  • Technical due diligence — for investors and acquirers, with a written verdict
  • Codebase & architecture audits — what's sound, what's debt, what's dangerous
  • Scalability & reliability reviews — before the traffic arrives
  • Hiring pipeline design — role definitions, interview loops, scorecards
  • Process design — release management, QA, incident response
  • Leadership coaching — for the engineering lead who's about to become a manager

Not sure which shape fits? Book a 30-minute intro — you'll leave with a straight answer either way, in writing.

Selected Work

Engagements we run — the shape of the work.

Client work is confidential by default, so what follows is pattern, not portfolio: three of the five engagements the firm is built to run, told the way they actually go. Named references are shared in conversation — people who will take your call, not paragraphs on a website. See all five →

Engagement pattern · Audit & Due Diligence

The verdict before the wire

An investor is ten days from a term sheet and needs to know what the codebase is actually worth. Prayantr reads the code, the architecture, and the team, and delivers a written verdict: what's sound, what's debt, what breaks at 10x — and what it costs to fix. The deal proceeds with its eyes open, or doesn't.

On a deal clock? How the read runs

Engagement pattern · Integration Engineering

The integration blocking the deal

An enterprise contract hinges on making the product speak to a partner's system — and the first attempt has stalled in webhooks, retries, and mismatched data. Prayantr takes it end to end: idempotent syncs, reconciliation that catches what slips, a certification path the partner signs off on. The deal stops waiting on engineering.

Engagement pattern · Fractional Leadership

Between leaders

A funded company loses its engineering head mid-roadmap; the board wants numbers, senior candidates are stalling, and shipping has gone quiet. Prayantr steps in two days a week: the roadmap goes back in writing, the hiring loop restarts, delivery finds its cadence — and the eventual full-time hire inherits an org that's documented, not a mystery.

Between engineering leaders? How a fractional engagement runs

Engagement

Advisory, fractional, or the build — three ways to work together.

Independent since 2013, contracted worldwide under an MSA and per-engagement SOW — the entity behind the work is on The Firm.

I

Advisory

A few hours a month

Architecture reviews, build-vs-buy calls, vendor and integration-partner evaluations, hiring loops, and technical due diligence. A senior voice in the room when the decision is expensive.

II

Fractional Leadership

One to three days a week

Your CTO or VP of Engineering, embedded. Roadmaps, org design, delivery cadence, vendor negotiations, and the hard conversations — without the full-time compensation package.

III

The Build

Scoped, zero to one

Prayantr owns delivery end-to-end: scoping, architecture, the build itself, and a clean handover. You get a production system your own engineers will thank you for inheriting. Larger builds bring in trusted engineers under the principal's direct review — never a bench, never a handoff.

Every engagement starts the same way: a 30-minute conversation, then a scoped proposal within 48 hours. Book the intro.

The Principal

One founder. Two decades in the craft.

Amit Solanki, Founder & CEO of Prayantr Technologies

Amit Solanki

Founder & CEO, Prayantr Technologies

Amit founded Prayantr in 2013 as the vehicle for his consulting work, and has run it alongside a career at the sharp end of engineering leadership: SVP of Engineering at a venture-backed enterprise SaaS company in New York; Lead Software Architect at a global workspace platform through its steepest growth years; and before that, one of India's earliest Ruby on Rails engineers at the country's first Rails company.

Every Prayantr engagement gets the principal — leading personally, and bringing in trusted engineers under his direct review when a larger build calls for more hands. The judgment that comes from two decades of shipping enterprise platforms, negotiating integrations with some of the largest software vendors in the world, and building engineering teams from a single developer up. The full career record — numbers included — lives at amitsolanki.com.
